Sometimes

Sometimes 2 is good enough. But then, other times, it only takes 1. But then you remember, that 4 is better than 2 because 2 is double what 1 is and 4 is double what 2 is. 4 is pretty much the king of doubles because its a double of a double. And doubles are usually good. Because when people get married its a double, and married couples have a lot of fun.

4 is very much like a married couple because 4 is 2 2's which is 2 sets of 1's. And a married couple is made up of 2 people comprised of 2 things. Because both people are comprised of themselves and God (so each is 2 and 2 2's is 4). But I guess theres only 1 God so when they get married it becomes 3.

So I guess 3 is best.

Christian Music and The 90's

Today I stumbled upon a bunch of my old Christian rock tapes (yes I said tapes [and yes I said Christian]).

Three bands stand out to me. Newsboys, Jars of Clay, and DC Talk. Although this may come as a shock, I do remember a time when Christian music was interesting, inspired and talented. Sadly, most modern Christian barely music deserves the little attention it gets.

This is a list of the albums that stand out to me.

Newsboys
-Step Up To The Microphone (one of my all time favourite albums)
-Take Me To Your Leader

Jars of Clay
-If I Left The Zoo
-Who We Are Instead

DC Talk
-Supernatural

Ill provide three links to videos of these three awesome bands back in their glory days. Even though DC Talk is famous for making notably crappy music videos I've included one of their videos anyway.

Enjoy.

Newsboys - Entertaining Angels

Jars of Clay - Unforgetful You

DC Talk - Consume Me

New Music.

So. In celebration of the purchase of my iPod I have been listening to more music lately. I've discovered and rediscovered a few bands that I would like to share with you. Below is a listing of the bands, I'm not going to attempt to describe these bands so I will provide a link to a youtube video featuring each band.

Britney Spears

I was listening to her new CD "Blackout", and frankly I am quite disturbed.

I'm Mrs. "Lifestyles Of The Rich & Famous"
(You want a piece of me?)
I'm Mrs. "Oh My God, That Britney's Shameless!"
(You want a piece of me?)
I'm Mrs. "Extra! Extra! This Just In!"
(You want a piece of me?)
I'm Mrs. "she's too big, now she's too thin"
(You want a piece of me?)

Honestly, I'm disgusted, not at Britney but at how she is treated by society and the media. We eat up the latest celebrity and spit them out, forgetting that they deserve respect regardless of whether or not we know them personally. She deserved, and still deserves more respect than we have ever given her. I'm curious to see what the pop music industry would be like if we gave its artists were the same love and respect that we give to our friends.

Today.

I went over to visit a friend. We popped in Braveheart. What a beautiful noteworthy movie. Though the whole film was intensely moving, this line really stood out to me.

Your heart is free. Have the courage to follow it.

This speaks of infinite potential. Of choice and passion and courage. It speaks of the warrior heart that we all have access too.

This movie to me, is an metaphorical representation of the male heart. A passion that is selflessly fighting for freedom and adventure. There is a beautiful woman to fight for, and a hero role to be played. It shows true life, even if it is an abstract representation.

This is a great inspiration for me in my search for passionate life.

Nothing.

Nothing to blog about.

Its Christmas. I'm wracking my brain for ideas. But yep. Nothing.

I'm really interested in a few things right now. First off, I'm really finding a lot of new music lately. A lot of it is electronic. Um. Second, I'm starting to really pay attention to the way I view people, and how I act around them. Its really helpful in building confidence and security. Its kind of sketchy to just post that up on a blog, so ask me the next time you see me if you want.

Haha. Anyway. I'm out.
